Q: What do I wear to a Wonderland themed party? A: Depends - What Kind of Crazy do you identify with?

If you're anything like me, when a friend seeks your help for an Alice and Wonderland themed party of epic proportion she's attending this summer, your mind starts reeling (feed your head!). I have been a patron of the themed party arts since I can remember, so this assignment is of the type to immediately induce a creepy grin on my face (like Jim Carrey Dumb & Dumber style smile).

Naturally, it was impossible to limit myself to just one character - so I went with three, each inspired by the type of lunacy we or those we call near and dear fall victim to at parties after a few too many adult beverages. The Red Queen is for the type of individual who gets aggressively unhinged, spewing sharp and saucy retorts to anyone who unknowingly engages her in a game of small talk (I sympathize with this individual - I admit I often am her). The Mad Hatter suits you if you're the type of mentally deranged specimen whose attended one too many Burning Mans to remember why you're at the affair to begin with; your eyes look out in different directions, you have lost all semblance of time and reality, and yet you are still the life of the party. And then there's the Cheshire Cat, for the party attendee who somehow always manages to appear out of thin air (she doesn't even go here!) and suck you into the type of incomprehensible conversation that has you praying for an escape (someone make eye contact with me - somebody, anybody).

So here's to the insane party goers: may be know them, may we be them, may we go wild with them.

Q: What should I pack for my adult Spring Break? A: All of the things

There's nothing like a freezing weekend in NYC followed by a rainy Monday in Houston to make a gal dream of a beach vacay (preferably somewhere where wifi doesn't exist). To the lucky ones who may be taking an adult version of Spring Break in the near future, I'm more than happy to live vicariously through you - and to assist in putting together your packing list.

That's just what I did here for an amiga who recently jetted off to St Lucia. Word to the wise - its easy to fall into the trap of lusting over the sand-beneath-your-bronzed-toes-frozen-cocktail-in-hand-at-11am photos your spring breaking friends post; avoid such fomo-inducing behavior by (yes, I'm about to go there) finding your beach. And if such a quest means cranking up the heat in the apartment and treating yourself to a spiked 7-11 slushie (next stop, St. Slush-a), so be it.

Q: Why are pastel-colored gowns so hard to find? A: Challenge accepted

In just less than a month (23 days to be exact but whose counting), I have the great honour of being a part of my cousin's (cuz-from-my-huz-band) wedding. This particular bride-to-be is one of those rare breeds who trusts her bridal party enough to give them their choice in gown (no, I wasn't even that chill) - her only request was to keep it solid and to keep it pastel.

When you get marching orders from a gal who gives you major closet envy on the reg, you don't want to drop the ball (and not just because its a kinda-big-deal occasion) - partly because you want to confirm her faith in you was well-placed and partly to put in some effort to look half as good as the stunning surroundings - but mostly because you want to make her as happy as she makes you (the beauty of sisterhood, y'all).

And is there anything more happy than a gaggle of girls dressed in light hues watching one of their besties live out her dream day? Based on the times I've been fortunate enough to be part of the gaggle, I can assure you there isn't.

Q: What do I wear to a Nashville wedding? A: A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll

When asked by some friends to help them find something to wear to upcoming nuptials in Nashville, TN, I rummaged the internet for finds that ooze with Music City vibes. Capturing the spirit of Nash-Vegas can't be done without a nod to its signature rock and roll and country music or a curtsy to its Southern roots - so I aimed for a mix of both, with lots of sale finds peppered in. Just add some moonshine and you're ready to par-tay.

Q: Can you turn me into Beyonce? A: Kinda

One of my nearest and dearest recently sent me this Who What Wear article, which profiled a fiery and affordable little white number that Queen B wore to her sister Solange's wedding in 2014 (see below). The challenge was to find a similar dress - and the results were some worthy contenders (also found this same brander!).

1. Cecilia Prado 2. Jill by Jill Stuart 3. DVF 4. Blaque Label

... And justtt in case this post left you with wrong the impression that we aren't staying relevant over here - I'll leave you with these golden goddess numbers inspired by last night's Grammy performance (since we're all in the market for something similar - especially the mommies-to-be):

Apart from these kind of goose chases being a favorite exercise of mine, these two in particular bring up an important life lesson worth signing off on: 'Yonce ain't just a state of mind, people - she's also a state of dress. [mic. drop.]
